Dr. Ashifa Bardai has been practicing at South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital since August 2016. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1997. Upon graduation she spent a number of years working in a very busy veterinary hospital in Surrey. It was at that time that she discovered her true passion for internal medicine.
From there her travels took her and her husband to Halifax, Nova Scotia where she worked for the next several years, started her family and enjoyed the beautiful and relaxing East Coast lifestyle.
Over the years Dr. Bardai has done volunteer work for organizations such as the SPCA, the Wildlife Rescue Association and O.W.L. She currently volunteers in a pet therapy program with her 2-year-old Yorkie-Maltese pup Emmie.
Dr. Bardai lives in Burnaby with her husband Adil and is the proud mother of two teenagers Sophia and Keyan. When she is not out driving carpools, doing laundry or making lunches Dr. Bardai enjoys roaming the trails with her dog, taking long walks on the beach, reading, yoga and photography.
Dr. Bardai was initially drawn to veterinary medicine for her love and compassion of all animals big and small. While this still holds true today, perhaps her greatest passion is in helping families and meeting and working with so many amazing people. She feels especially grateful to be part of a profession where there is so much opportunity for personal growth and learning, and one that is rewarding on so many levels. She is delighted to be a part of the South Burnaby Veterinary Family.
